What soap has surprised you the most?

I was surprised how much I liked GV shortening in soap. I am never one to save money so it was a surprise to hubby too.

I do as well but wondering if you add a preservative or keep % under 23%? I’ve heard they (soap w/ shortening or lard) tend to go rancid 18+no out @ 23% or more?

I add sodium gluconate to every batch
