Hello,

I made this cp soap the day before yesterday. I noticed these spots two days later. After pouring in the mold, wrapped it in a towel and let it harden overnight. Next day I unwrapped it and took it out of the mold. I let it harden further on coated metal rack overnight and noticed these freckle-like brown spots only on the top the next day. I’m not sure when they showed up. They are only on the top surface of the soap and can be scraped off, not deeper than surface.

Lye 140.8g
Water 299.3g
Coconut oil 250g
Palm oil 300g
Olive oil 300g
Shea butter 50g
Caster oil 100g
Bramble berry Cherry Almond FO 50g
Pigments from Brambleberry dispersed in new almond oil

The pigment and FO were hand mixed in to delay tracing.

Soap smells good, not rancid-like.

Thanks for any help!

They look like air bubbles that have floated to the top - and then discoloured after a day or two (they would have been there earlier put you probably didn't see them). Most likely fragrance oil if they have discoloured. It sounds like they are not harmful - just check there is no zap.
