Hello, my name is Annie. I am 100% new to this. I haven't even tried it yet but it is something i really want to do. Any tips, tricks, or places i should start...i hope coming here will point me in the right direction.

I'm a stay at home mom to 5 beautiful kids. I'm looking to start this as something to help keep my sanity lol and possibly bring in a little extra income if i get good at it.

Hi Annie,

Welcome to the forum! :D

There is a lot of information in the CP section. When I first joined the forum, I started at the very end of a section and read forward to the current posts. It took awhile but I learned so much! Not only did it answer many of my questions, I even found information which I wouldn't have thought to ask. Below are some links to other sites which have information and tutorials. There are many more resources but these few will get you started.

Hi Everyone! I found this forum thru a google search. I am interested in starting off with Bath and Body products such as scrubs, salts etc and then on to bigger and better things...SOAPS!!!. I am very new to this, so new that just researching it has me in over my head already! I am hoping to make this a little sideline business to make a little extra money. I would appreciate all and any help. I'm off to start reading the other forums.

Hi everyone,
I'm officially new to the forum, however, I've been lurking for a bit now. I love chemistry. I have dry, dry skin. I hate the idea of using all those harsh detergents on my skin. Oh, and my husband says I'm OCD about handwashing. So making soap just seems to make sense. I'm hopelessly addicted. I soap in those early morning moments after my husband leaves for work and before my child wakes for the day. It's my quiet me time. I find it very relaxing and purposeful all at the same time. Plus, it's cheaper than therapy. I'm more scientific and less creative than I'd like to be. I'm working on that. :D

Happy Soaping!

I'm Lis, and I'm brand new to this idea. I'm trying to replace most of the detergent and chemical stuff in my house with homemade things, but as long as I am at it, I want to do things correctly so that I can make gifts for friends and extended family. If someday I like it enough to add to my children's clothing business, well then that would be great, as well.

I'm more interested in the lotion and bodywah business than the lye business, but we'll see where things go.

Hello everyone... my lye arrives on friday can't wait to try CP soapin... I have been reading about this pretty much nonstop since i found a couple small shop on vacation last week. I have made the plunge and am ready to start this. I don't have any experience but you gotta start somewhere. Been running through this site looking for tips. Hello all!

Hi everyone, My name is Katie. I joined the forum as a referral from a friend who is a member here in hopes of gaining a little more insight and ideas about making some different versions of goat milk based soaps. :) I raise dairy goats on a small farm in Tennessee. I currently have 12 does and 2 bucks which is our all time low (usually our herd is at least 50+ head). Our does produce at least a gallon per day per doe and with 7 freshening soon and our one jersey cow who is currently fresh and is producing 4 gallons sometimes a little more a day we are looking for new ideas that will help us consume part of the milk to keep from having to pour so much out. I realize it may not be a lot that would be used in the soaps but a family of 4, 2 dogs, and 4 pigs can only consume so much milk and just hate having to pour so much down the sink

Anyway nice to meet you all and looking forward to some reading here on the forum!

Hahaha I found you!

Welcome Wild-flower, This is a great environment to learn in! I'm glad to have found a forum full of many kind and knowledgeable soapers!
