Can anyone explain please, that, when im making a new item using a mould, i make one first.. then weigh it. It weighs in at 170 grams. If i use 170 grams of M&P to make another, its never enough. I have to use about 240 grams to end up with a 170 gram item.. where does the other 70 grams go to once melted and poured..?.. i cant work it out for the life of me..

You mold may be measuring liquid ounce measurement and you are using gram weight measurements.

Are you taking into account the weight of the vessel?
