It took about 10 min to make. I cut blanks out on the table saw. Then I set up my dado blade and ripped the grooves. Voila, a perfect mold!
I make guitars and furniture and stuff and when people want to buy from me, they end up being sooooo picky, so I almost never do that anymore. I have the plans though if anyone wants them. I'd be happy to share since you all are so nice to share with me.
Oh, and it holds 2 lbs.
I made a cutter too . . . it's like the ones on the internet too, but It was free to me :)

I'd love a copy of the plans. My mom wood turns so I have access to a band saw - I wonder if that would work?

You could probably do a few sizes and sell them on Etsy, and not have to deal with custom orders.

I would buy. Just saying....

PS-the cutter is sexier.

This plastic is very expensive. I'm looking for scraps to see if I can get something cost effective. Like $110 plus shipping for a 24" by 48" piece. Ouch!

Found a place with the stuff for $58.98 for the size you mentioned. However, I do not know the thickness and left the default That will change the price a bit. The sheet is Burgundy type of color They have many options but since I do not know much about the material I just went with what I knew and plugged in the numbers.

https://www.interstateplastics.com/...0.250&qty=1&recalculate.x=49&recalculate.y=23

https://www.interstateplastics.com/...0.060&qty=1&recalculate.x=58&recalculate.y=15

God, this is a bad thing. I can spend hours doing this.. ugh lol.

Good looking mold, good looking cutter, well done! (I wish you were my neighbour)

As you may, or may not have noticed yet, but us soapers in here we do like a good soapmold.
While others drool over fashion, makeup and cars, we soapfolk`s drool over well performing and easy to clean soapmolds, and awesome cutters.

Welcome to the madness:mrgreen:

That was the 1/4" sheet. The 1/2" is $117. Like I said the material is not inexpensive. Great stuff if you can get your hands on some for a decent price though. Not near as "sticky" as acrylic.:)
