'Watery' lather?

i am just starting to make M&P. I bought four types from New Direction Aromatics. (Clear, Non-certified Organic, Shea, and Natural SLS Free.) The soaps don't lather like I'm used to. Not to say it's bad, but it IS different. The lather is more "watery." I tried all four and, though Non-certified Organic has the richest lather, it is still not what I'm used to. Questions: Is this the nature of M&P? Are there bases out there that have richer lather? I don't know, but I have a hunch that if I gave this soap to 10 people, not one would buy a second bar.
