vegetable oil

My son accidentally bought me 2 gallons of veg. oil . Is it usable in CP soap , is it worth trying it? Does anyone have any experience with it? Thanks in advance.

Technically yes but since vegetable oil is a blend of oils, you'd likely have to run it through a soap calulator as either soybean or canola oil at the least to see which get a feel for how to use it. Is there no way to return it?

Luckily we don't have a generic 'vegetable oil' for sale in NZ. Everything is labelled as what it is - canola oil, soybean oil etc.
