Vanilla oil infusion

What is the best way to dry out sticky vanilla beans and how many do I use per 16 oz oil for a fragrant infusion to use in perfume, balm, or other formulations please? I know if I use it in soap the scent won't stay but was hoping to use it in other things. Thanks so much in advance if you have any tips. Afraid of getting botulism if they aren't dried out and these are very fresh.

If you are going to make an infusion right away, you don't need to dry them. I have never dried mine and have had them for at least 3 or 4 years (got a large quantity all at once). I vacuum seal them and am done until I am ready to use. They are perfectly good and I use them more for edible applications than anything.
