Hello Everyone.

I am experimenting making liquid soap.I have purchased a distillator.
I distilalte sage and lavender.
As you know from the distillation we have to liquids:hydrosol and essential oil.
I was thinking to dilute my soap paste with hydrosol
Does it take the scent only from my hydrosol or I have to add also essential oil?
Can I dilute my soap paste with hydrosol?

I don't know much about hydrosols unfortunately but it may not hurt to give it a go. I am not sure if you need a preservative as well, however.

Hydrosol is nearly all water, so, yes, it can be used to dilute liquid soap. Hydrosols will spoil, however. They are supposed to be kept refrigerated or frozen or should have a preservative added. The same goes for liquid soap diluted with a hydrosol.
