I regularly use titanium dioxide to whiten my goat milk soap but when I ordered supplies I accidently ordered Zinc Oxide instead. I don't want it to go to waste and am looking to this group for tips on how to use it. I found a recipe for "calamine soap" that used a large amount 1/2 c. to 3/4 c. zinc oxide for an 8# batch. I appreciate any input.

I have not used it in soap, but I love it in shampoo and creams and lotions.

I have seen soaps commercially marketed that contain zinc oxide, some of them claim to be a very high percentage. I would say try a small batch with around 5% of your oil weight in ZO and see what you think. Remember tho to WEIGH everything, 1/2 a cup is not an accurate way to measure!

Are you interested in using it in something other than soap?

I'm allergic to a lot of store bought deodorants, so I make my own...and use zinc oxide.

Also, some people make their own sunscreen.

I use it in sunscreen for personal use, i have sensitive skin and it still feels good.
