Too Hot

I remember now reading that goats milk soap can get too hot and crack, but unfortunately I forgot that and tucked mine in tightly. If it looks like this in the mold, does that mean it’s going to be brittle when I cut it?

It will depend on your recipe. If they are firm enough I would get them out of the molds and try to cut them. They most certainly overheated. Hopefully you don't have a mess when you take them out. Any milk soap has the potential to overheat. I watch them like a hawk.

They cut nicely, so I guess I lucked out. Next time I imagine I’ll remember not to insulate gm soap!

You're lucky. Mine severely overheated so badly, I had black liquid on the bottom and it stank! I mean stank! I had to toss it.

I usually pop my milk soaps in the freezer after pouring to keep them from gelling and overheating. I leave the soap there a couple of days before unmolding,
