That much CO would be way too cleansing for my old skin, too, and that much castor would make a rubbery, sticky bar for me.

Sticking with those four oils, here's how I would change it up:

Cocoa butter 40
Canola 35
CO 20
Castor 5

Then add some cane sugar (keeping it with the C theme) at 1 tablespoon PPO to boost the lather. It won't show on the soap calc, but you will get nice bubbles from it. EDIT: Or you could add coconut cream. :)

That's an interesting thought to counter the harshness of high CO with a higher SF. I've never tried anything more than 20%SF and only with a 100% CO soap. Otherwise all that SF is a lather-killer and soap-scum-creator for me. Also, with all that canola in there, DOS becomes a greater risk with higher SF, too. So for the recipe I suggested, I'd probably stick with 2-3% SF. It's got plenty of conditioning and shouldn't be drying at all.

Coincidentally, Holly's Soapmaking YT channel recently featured a high cocoa-butter soap that turned out nicely for her. :)

Thanks so much for your input! I think I will try this, and I will definitely add pics...thanks again!

Just me.
I'm old so it's a bit too cleansing for me.
It should make a nice soap though. Pictures or it never happened. We like pictures of soap here.:nodding:
I Will reduce the coconut oil and the castor and see how it turns out...thanks!

Too much Coconut and Castor for me. But if you are happy with the soap, that's all that matters.
