How to measure the TFM of soap without lab?

Most people on this forum are small scale soap makers who do not need to have a TFM (total fatty matter) analysis of their soap, so this issue is rarely discussed here.
It does come up once in awhile, however. The Search function is the best way to find this information. Enter the keyword tfm in the Search box in the upper right corner of this screen, press Enter, and see what comes up.
