I keep reading the fractionated coconut oil isn't good for soap but can anyone explain why? I know the fatty acid profile is different from regular CO but couldn't it still be used in moderation?

To me it's more of a "why waste the money" (and the hard oil benefits of easier cutting sooner)

I use co off the grocery store shelf where my husband works, so employee discount makes it cheeper. Fco is more expensive because of the processing (I think) plus I have to pay shipping. I havent heard of enough of a difference to make it worth the cost. Someone else might have more to say on the actual chemestry but for me the hard oil benefits plus the price differences make me look for an alternate use - I'm currently playing around with lip gloss

Edit: ngian posted first with chemestry link
