Strange Gel...

Made an anise eo soap with coffee and over a few days I noticed a bit of zappy weeping so curious I decided to slice a bar today (about 3 days cure now) and luckily no zappy any more but check out the crazy gel!

I've had this happen before, although only with one layer, yours looks like two. It's not gel, I think this is more about being exposed to the air. Over time, it will darken and all be the same color. I call it "the cheese rind effect." It can be really interesting, and sometimes I wish it would stay that way, but unfortunately, it doesn't. If I'm remembering correctly, it has only happened with brown soaps. Not sure why.

Ahhh, got it. It will be interesting to watch as it cures. It already looks darker in the middle so you are probably right.
