I wanted to let you know the process DeeAnna suggested worked! I'm so happy with how it turned out. It's not a hard bar of soap yet, but the modeling clay texture is GONE! Thank you everyone for your input and help!

YMMV = your mileage might vary = this may not work out the same for you!
Pinpointing soap making problems can be difficult because there are so many variables. If you have fresh supplies of everything and you didn't forget any ingredients and you measured correctly it could be the soap gremlins!

PJ, those soap gremlins are evil! LOL. I agree, it's so hard to pinpoint problems, sometimes a soap just turns out wonderfully and then sometimes I am left scratching my head. And thank you for the explanation of YMMV
