Hello! Can anyone help me diagnose these white streaks inside my cp soap? Is it soda ash or stearic acid? I think I've ruled out the lye spot. (I picked off some white area, mixed it with little water and tested ph 8-9 using pH strips.)
But I suspect that I soaped it too cold. I kept the lye solution in icy water a bit too long. When I mixed the batter, Lye was only about 75 degrees and oil was about 105 degrees.
The recipe is as below.
Olive Oil – 45%
Safflower Oil – 10%
Coconut Oil – 25%
Lard – 15%
Avocado Oil – 5%

This is my 2nd batch of CP soap and my 4th time making soap, including 2 saponification labs in my Organic chemistry class.

Below is the ghastly result of my attempt at the Dancing funnel technique. THANKS!
