IanT posted about "soapnuts" .. I Googled it, thinking I would find a forum or an informative site on soapmaking, but found the actual soapnut, a fruit from the Sapindus detergens tree.

Out of curiosity, could the ground soapnut be used in CP soap? Has anyone tried it, or heard about using it?

this is the link to soapnuts...the forum...http://soapnuts.com/index.shtml

as for if CP can be made with soapnut...I think Id say yes. there are a few herbs and plants that can be used to make soap.. (soapwort, another one i know of)...as far as I know, one wouldnt use lye when making a soap with this in it... I think that the crushed plant material provides saponin...to tell you the truth i forgot the details of how its done but i know its possible (ooook off to google as well :)...need a refresher :)!)

yes i believe so....but i think you could also use it as an additive at 1-2v tsp per pound of oils... would probably bump up the cleansing/bubbly factor??
