This evening I was texting with a friend. I missed her baby shower due to a death in my family. I wanted to meet up with her, since I have a nice gift plus a bunch of diapers(I am a couponer). She suggested we meet at her mom's house for lunch....hmmm...I have never met her mom and appreciate the lunch. Normally I would just show up. But now, that I have a TON of soap...I think I will make a little bag for her. One of the benefits of making soap. You never have to go anywhere empty handed, nor stop at the last minute to pick something up. NOW....how many soaps would she like? LOL!!!

Hi Jean,

I'm a big believer in trying your luck at local markets, especially if you have so much soap you have made. You should think about printing out some simple little labels and going along to a local market day, even approaching stall holders to put a little display out of your soaps.

Just an idea and another soap making benefit!

If only it was that easy.
Seems like rather sketchy and inappropriate advise in this context; especially with the commercial blog/book.

:???: The downside is you can't stop ever again.
I'm almost out of soap, practically all the scented ones are gone and won't be soaping for a while.
But people Want Their Soap Now :p

Hi Dagmar,

I don't see how it's inappropriate advice, I honestly see the chance to make a bit of pocket money as a benefit of soap making as a hobby. I know for a lot of people it's not a factor they consider but I personally think it's exciting to give it a go. But I come from a bit of an entrepreneurial background (and family!) and I accept that my view won't line up with others.

Anyhow I only meant to lend my opinion to the general topic, I hope someone finds it useful!

Have a nice day everyone.
