I’m still working out a sea salt bar recipe that makes me happy. I really like less than 50% of the oil weight. 30-25%. Is there a written “rule” for sea salt spa bar ratios. I’m guessing there are no soap police out there and it’s like the Wild Wild West. I’ve noticed that commercial Castile soap isn’t what I would call Castile. Can I call my bars sea salt spa bars or should I try to come up with something different like just spa bar. I don’t want to mislead people but rather educate them on types of soap. My customer base is geeky and they like to know stuff.

Opinions?

I make mine with 40-45% salt. I’ve found that’s my happy place. I just call them salt bars. I’ve gone as low as 30% but worked back up till it was perfect for me. So you can use whatever works best for you.
