I'm having a problem with my soap turning white on the parts that are exposed to air as it cures. When I initially take it out of the mold it's a normal color. But as it cures it starts to fade to white on the top and the sides is there something I'm doing (or not doing) to create this problem. You can see in the picture that the top of this bar of soap has turned more white than the off-white of the regular bar.

Looks like soda ash to me . . . it's just a cosmetic issue and won't have any impact on the soap's performance. Also wanted to mention the lavender buds on top will eventually turn brown, it's just what lye does to most botanicals so didn't want you to be surprised.
