The SMF's definition of an internet troll:

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupting normal discussion."-WIKI

The SMF has zero tolerance for trolling. If we determine you are attempting to provoke or disrupt this forum or if your posts have an inflammatory feel to them your account will be deleted an your IP will be banned.

We don't play that way here.

No matter how much you want to, no mater how much bait is dropped into the water, please refrain from feeding the trolls.

In Scandinavian folk tales, a troll is a scary little booger, bent on mischief, that lives under a bridge. It dedicates its life to preventing the bridge from being used for its purpose. In internet terms, a “troll” is a participant whose participation is counterproductive to the purpose of the forum he/she intrudes on.

Internet trolls disrupt online communities by posting inflammatory, sarcastic or disruptive content as a means to draw other members into a useless confrontation. The greater the reaction, the more likely the troll is to do it again. Trolls thrives on attention & most can not distinguish negative from positive.

Please ignore the trolls and report them to mods. Do not feed the trolls, they will grow tired of talking to themselves & they will go away.

    RE: Troll Assistants, Apprentice Troll

An apprentice troll ( or troll's assistant) is one who is not quite bold enought to be trolls on their own. They choose instead to following a troll around and either egging them on or backing them up. Apprentice trolls will also be banned.
