Silica beads

Has anyone ever put a muslin bag full of silica beads in your long term storage box? I have about 10 pounds that I use for drying seeds and was wondering if they would be of any use in retaing moisture in my stored boxes of soap?

I use 3lb bags in my soap mold and storage boxes of micas. Just as a per-causion. Plus since you can dry them out again, why not?

I don't need mine until harvest season and I just replaced mine with fresh beads.

I don’t use a large amount but I do keep little packages that come in things and put them in my storage boxes I take to shows.
