It is my experience that under 6-ish pounds it is more economical to go US Postal and over 6-ish pounds it is more economical to go UPS. Both are reliable. UPS has free insurance on all packages up to $100.00 (I think that is the sum). FYI: UPS cost 10x as much as US Postal for international shipping.
I would not for anything in the world set up an account w/ fed-ex & let them keep my credit card number on file. I had an account w/ them a few years back & *somehow*, one day, EVERY package that shipped at their N Dallas location was billed to my account & I had a WORLD of trouble for weeks & never got completely reimbursed :roll: .
