Shikakai powder in CP soap

Hi. I am just formulating my first CP recipe and I really want to make it with Shikakai and Amla powders. At which point should I put them? While tracing? Or before?

Well I ended up adding them to the warm oils, previously diluted with a bit of sunflower oil, before adding lye solution

I also usually add my additives straight to my oils or lye solution (depending on their solubility), the exception is coffee grounds, poppyseeds (anything that I don't necessarily want blended into smaller bits) or salts. I've never used those two ingredients that you mentioned however.

Amla is pretty acidic, as I recall, so that would increase your superfat if you don't compensate for that. I don't know how acidic it is, but maybe someone with more chemistry and math knowledge could chime in about that.
