Shaving Soap

I want to try a decent shaving soap. I did a little a research and the info that looks most promising is the use of both KOH & NaOH, with making the soap in the crockpot. Would I need to add glycerin for this to work? Any other takes on this???? Any good recipes???? Thank You!!
