My hubby wants me to make shaving soap, I come up with this recipe, what do you think?

Babassu 15%
Castor 10%
Cocoa Butter 10%
Coconut Oil 15%
Olive 30%
Soy 20%

Hardness: 38
Cleansing: 21
Conditioning: 58
Bubbly: 30
Creamy: 27
Iodine: 67
INS: 143

I will add some Benoite Clay and sugar (with lye water) for slip.

thanks

I personally don't like shaving bars too bubbly - it should be lathery and smooth, but not too bubbly. The 30% you have looks good to me. I use 8 oz each of olive, coconut, palm and canola, add 2 tbsp. of bentonite and then superfat with a couple oz of shea butter so it doesn't dry the skin - especially for men's facial shaving soap. Nice hard bar, great lather, perfect slip.

...and add a tsp of extra castor oil at trace! You'd be surprised at what it will do for a shaving soap!
