Shaving soap additives - salt and sugar

Well, I've decided to leave both salt and sugar out of my shaving soap in future. The 3 test soaps have been added to water at a 1:1 ratio to make a very creamy liquid soap

Thanks for sharing your conclusions! You've saved me from fiddling with those additives myself. I missed this thread before and was actually just considering putting in some sugar.

I'm still slated to try out goat milk as a water replacement for my recipe - next time!

I was hoping for more firmness from the soap but it really was more sticky than the pure batch, even when I was putting it in to a tub for dilution.

I use milk of the goat in the soaps now, as that really does make a difference! You really should try it
