I have made a second batch of soap. This time I used skin safe cosmetic mica colors. Color seems to be much lighter 24 hours after sitting, is this normal or could it be the brand of mica ? Thanks!

Where did you get your mica? It's not enough that it be skin safe, they also need to be stable in soap making.

How much mica did you use per pound of oil?
Hi, I used half a teaspoon per pound , so 1.5 total. I ordered it on amazon. It stated it was Cosmetic skin safe for soap , bath bombs and lotions. It was a top seller and had good reviews so I went ahead and tried it. My plan for the future is to use mad mica colors,I am in Canada and mail is currently behind when ordering from the USA.
Thanks!

Most need 1 tsp per pound, sometimes more.

I suspect that it is for melt and pour soap. When you are able to, places like Nurture Soap, Wholesale Supplies Plus, Mad Micas; will even advise you on how much to use and sometimes show pictures of what to expect.

Thank you very much. I will try adding more and order from madmicas for my next batch.
