Saving milk/lye solution

I mixed up my buttermilk lye solution and realized I didn't have enough oil to make my recipe. Can I save my solution overnight?

I want to say I think it will be fine (not super sure though) as far as the lye is concerned but it will make all the fat into soap so the rest of your batch will have spots in it.
