Salt Soap - When is the best time to add salt to the soap batter and does timing make a difference in the soap quality? I'm making a salt soap with red palm oil & coconut oil using salt to increase moisturizing skin properties & some sugar for lather. Thanks for any suggestions.

You can add it whenever, but I think what will change the outcome the most is whether you dissolve it or leave it as crystals. If you want to leave it as crystals, first make sure that they aren’t too rough (I’m not really sure how to tell before hand, I just know that table salt was good and ground Himalayan salt was not), then just add it at the end so you make sure you got the soap working properly.
If you dissolve it, maybe better already adding it to the lye water, but of course you’ll have to be using a lot less salt.
