Sachet packaging (like ketchup packets) for products

We all know the ubiquitous condiment packets of ketchup, mustard & mayo - right? I've found that these are often referred to as sachets. Does anyone here use these for their products? I suspect that a packaging machine may be rather expensive if a retail solution is purchased but a DIY solution may be an option if a large volume is not necessary.

I would think that a roll of heat seal able plastic film/tubing would work but the hardest part would be if a "tear off" point is needed.

I'd like to be able to package 1/4 -1/2 oz of product (about same density as water so 7-14ml) and think this might be feasible if a process could be devised.

I use these to makes samples for beauty supply stores. They usually give them out with other purchases.

Not as pretty as the ones you have there, but they look cute enough when labeled.

I just saw these the other day at WSP, HERE is the linky dink! The brilliant part was that you can use your iron to seal them so no special equipment needed.
