My friend really wants me to make a batch of soap with rose oil. Other than the fact rose oil is incredibly expensive, is this even doable? Is it an oil that will survive the heating process (I do cp soap) and still leave a decent scent? And lastly, assuming people actually do this, does anyone want to recommend a good place to buy rose oil?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Oh my gosh! A quick apology to all because I see I asked this question several months ago and got several responses. I am still open to new thoughts, but again, I apologize to those who already answered this one.

No problem. I don't know that I have anything new to say, but my suggestion would be to consider HP, or maybe even go as far as MP. Or you could shred the CP and melt it down, then add the rose EO.

Another option is rose geranium EO. It's not a cheap EO, but it's not as high as rose or sandalwood, either.

You may also want to check out rose floral wax.
