Retired and Ready for New Career

Hello Everyone,
I'm retired and ready for a new career. I've made a few candles and melt and pour soap bars. I'm very interested in learning to make "real soap". Thank you for accepting me into your group.

Welcome, and happy retirement! There is a fairly long learning curve in soapmaking due to the curing time; you also need time to learn from the things that may not happen to you at first, but may pop up later in time. But it sure is a fun way to spend your time, and you are in good company here. We love making soap, talking about soap, reading about soap, and ogling each other's soap pictures. Hope you will post a few!

I retired recently too. Soapmaking is the best new hobby I've tried and it's fair to say that I completely obsessed. I'm pretty proficient at it, but have decided not to make a business of it. It's purely for fun- and it's pretty easy to give away, too! Welcome!
