I'm looking forward to making my first batch of soap and experimenting. But I think it would be more cost-efficient for me to get the experience by making 1 pound batches.

So my question is, can regular size recipes, be scaled down to 1 pound size and still be reliable, or is it too risky to even bother doing this?

That is a good re-sizer calculator Phillip gave you. I've used it early in my soaping career. I like www.soapcalc.com personally. Just enter in at the top 1 pound, and enter the percentage of each oil to get to 100% then hit "calculate." I think MMS has a re-sizer too.

Paul....
