A few days ago while washing dishes at my kitchen sink, I saw this Red Tail Hawk just standing there in my backyard. Of course I had to get my camera and get some photos, but no way could I go outside as he would have flown away as soon as I opened the door. Even moving the curtains in the bedroom alarmed him and he didn't stick around for long when he saw me through the window shooting him (camera shooting.)

The camera I took this photo with doesn't have a telephoto lens, just a 4X digital zoom, so it's not the clearest shot. And it's taken through a dirty window (I don't clean my windows very often, and never in the winter) so the colors are really washed out. Plus it was and overcast and cold day.

But I was thrilled to have gotten a few photos regardless. I wish I had gotten some of him in flight, but I wasn't fast enough.
