Hey y'all,

I recently made an HP soap where I added oats before the cook, and it stank up the whole house because the oats cooked in the soap. At least I'm guessing that's why it stank.

Anyway, I was wondering if its okay to rebatch soaps that have oats or dried herbs in them. Does the cooking affect the oats and/or herbs in any way?

I'm far from an HP expert but would venture to say yes. Any time you cook an herb it loses some of its beneficial properties, otherwise, why would fresh herbs be so much more beneficial than dried herbs. I would imagine that the heat would have an effect; however, I don't know how serious.
