Purple Reign!
A tribute to a legend who was very influential in my life. Long may he reign!
Scented with essential oils of lavender (of course!), ylang ylang, lime, and cedar.
These were a labor of love and devotion. I couldn’t charge enough to cover the time they spent to make. But the process was therapeutic and joyful. Hopefully when they’re ready they’ll make their way to folks who appreciate Prince the way I do.
There were a few things that didn’t go exactly as planned. But in the end I like them.
I’m sad he’s gone. I’m glad he lived. I’m super grateful to have seen him a few times.

These are a beautiful and amazing tribute.

My brother worked security for Prince back when I was 15ish. At the time he had a very jealous girlfriend and when flowers and a teddy bear showed up at the gate he told my brother to bring them home for his little sister. I was over the moon. My brother said he was soft-spoken and always treated him like an old friend instead of an employee. Would ask him about his family or what his plans for the weekend were.

This is just perfect and thank you. I'll never forget Minneapolis all lit up in purple when he died, and that folks from every generation and culture paid their respects at his home. Bless you for a sweet and elegant tribute.

That’s what I was hoping for. But when the soaping was going down things were happening and I wasn’t able to place them as precisely as I’d hoped. I’m glad you still got that!!!

I used about 12 different shades of purple! Thank you NS! But then I was worried that I didn’t have enough contrast and that the design would get lost. I was happy that the rain shows.
And, the mountain is a lazy horizon technique. I waited for that layer of ITPS to set up and then just shaped it with a spatula. It’s not as precise as a scraper, but it was a whole lot easier!

Thanks! Here’s some pics from my assembly line process with the doves.
First I made one the shape and size I wanted and used it as a model.
Then I made a set of model pieces. That way I could recreate them in the same size and shape.
I also really enjoy making raindrops by hand!
