Pumpkin Soap

I was hoping to make a pumpkin soap in time for Halloween, but that never happened, as these types of things usually go.

I made one yesterday though!



You can thank my 4 year old daughter for the purple sparkly pumpkin! Haha.

Besides the pumpkin purée (which I used in my lye mixture), I used ground mustard, turmeric and paprika powder.

Orange and lemon essential oils, which i know will just fade eventually. That was all I had on hand though. Kinda wish I had a nice pumpkin FO instead.

Every pumpkin FO I've used so far discolors unfortunately.

I had a very nice pumpkin pie fragrance oil that I did not save the bottle from before. Afterward I tried plain pumpkin delight from Essential Depot but that did not turn out as nice. So I tried Bramble Berry pumpkin and pie fragrance oil but it did not turn out to have a good scent. I will keep playing around with my recipe.

That’s a bit disappointing hearing that most pumpkin FOs aren’t that great.
Maybe something else might work? More of a cinnamon, cloves and something else mixed together.
