I've been trying to make beeswax taper candles with the proops bros plastic moulds, but so far each candle comes out looking like pieces have been carved out (see photo for reference). I know this is due to the wax shrinking because of cooling. But I've tried pouring from as low as 150 F to 170 F, all very slowly. I've also wrapped it in tin foil, hoping that it would help. The results turn out exactly the same. Are plastic moulds simply not meant for beeswax? Or is there something else that I should be doing?
