Can anyone tell me what kind of mould (material-wise) you need when using a manual and/or pneumatic press, please?

Yes, I use the same for shampoo bars.

Haven’t tried a pneumatic one. You could ask the seller of the pneumatic press to make a recommendation.

Quite a while back some of the members recommended using a mooncake press. I used this manual mold for my syndet bars.

I use a combination of a mold similar to the one linked by @lsg, and this manual press that I bought from Etsy. I really like it so far - it allows me to make much harder bath bombs and shampoo bars, even when the mix is starting to dry out and would normally crumble.

This low-end model is more than sufficient for my needs, but if I were going to be making large quantities to sell, I'd probably spring for the all-metal version, which wasn't that much more and would be a little sturdier.
