Poodle fur instead of Silk

If I recall correctly eggs also are high in keratin which is why they will give the same feel to soap and I would use them when my granddaughter was here with an abundance of eggs. I do use silk cocoons when I do not forget to put them in when I rebatch.

I will mention I really do not care what anyone used in soap for personal use, and in the UK it has to go through an assessment before selling.

Dog fur/hair is a type of keratin protein. Silk is also a protein and is sometimes classified as a keratin, as is spider silk. Our hair and fingernails are made of keratin. As I understand it, it’s the dander/skin cells associated with fur that trigger allergies, not the fur itself.

I just got the funniest mental image of putting finely chopped fingernails into soap.
