Palm oil shortening and almond oil.

I bought some palm shortening and wanted to know if it is the same as palm oil. In the manufacturer data sheet under components it says the following: “Mix of refined edible vegetable fats (palm and palm stearin), and antioxidant (TBHQ). The palm used is RSPO for mass balance.”
In soapcal.net the NaOH value of both is the same at 0.142. I have attached the Data sheet, the components informations is in the first page but it is written in spanish.

I also have in my house some almond oil from costco. It isn’ bitter or sweet just say Almond Oil. The brand is La Tourangelle, made from 100% almonds and under ingredients it has written “Refined almond oil (almond). I was wondering if I can use it for soaping and what Sap values should I use from soapcalc.

It sounds like you have Palm oil if that is the only ingredient. The almond oil you have is also called sweet almond oil (same thing) so use the SAP value for SAO.

You've got yourself Palm oil so just use that in the soap calculator as well as Sweet Almond Oil. I have the same one and it works just fine.
