I can not find any palm oil in my area. :( The question is what is the next best type of oil for the palm oil? :? Thank you for the help!

You don't need palm. Try playing with soapcalc, maybe start with olive, coconut, cocoa or shea butter & castor, you can make lovely soap with those and good and hard too

I agree with Corrie - I have yet to make a soap using Palm. My soaps almost all start with OO & CO - from there I expand with other oils and butters. You don't need Palm to make a really nice soap which is also hard......

I've never used palm either, coconut, olive, & soy have been my staple oils so far. (I mix it up with other oils too, just never palm)

I don't use much palm either , if you use a soap program you can have a lot of fun creating your own soap recipe.
