I have read that many infused oils cannot hold up to the rigors of the CP method. But I want to experiment anyway. Does anyone have experience with making homemade infusions and using them in soap? I have a large jasmine vine in my front yard and it perfumes my whole yard in the spring. I want to make an infusion of jasmine oil and use it in one of my soaps. Will the smell hold up?

I'll fill a pint jar with the flowers, pour in a neutral oil like maybe grapeseed and set it on the window sill for several weeks. Our hot Florida sun will keep it hot.

Any thoughts from the experts?

In my early days, I tried to infuse many things in my oils. Nothing held scent-wise. Some colors may stick for a while though.
If you decide to try it, maybe choose a sturdier oil with a longer shelf-life (olive, sunflower, etc.) Grapeseed typically doesn't last long, especially if you're storing in the warm sunlight.
Good luck!
