Natures Garden Usage Rates

So I got a FO to go with a theme soap and when I used their suggested rate of 1.1% for soap (not specific to HP/CP I CPed) the scent came out pretty week. Is the usage rate just a suggestion for scenting purposes or is it like with certain EOs where there is actually a safety concern?

The usage rates are determined by the IFRA as the maximum safe amount for each application. Good that you stuck to it! I have personally been burned by soapmakers that did not stick to the guidelines, literally.

For a fragrance with a usage rate that low, I would definitely try HP'ing it, or find something else that may work.

Yeap, that is how I always figure it.

If you used HP, did you add the FO at the end of the cook? Adding clay to the soap can anchor the scent.
