Hi,
I made a batch of soap today

olive oil
coconut oil
veg oil
sunflower oil
avocado oil
grapeseed oil at trace
2 FOs
and green FD & C dye

When I put the green dye in it started looking good then turned into this putrid salmon color. The fragrances call for a green soap. Your thoughts? Will it change in 24 hrs? How do you know if a color is going to change?
:?
Thanks!

Did you gel it? ...It possibly could have been a reaction with the FOs and the dye.

yes i gelled

Yes, I'm gelling right now. (well not me personally)

But it changed color in the pot when I was mixing. It was such a drastic change....

I have only had a problem like that once, and it happened when I added my FO...Maybe after it comes out of the mold it will be a different color? Post pics! :)

pix of "green dyed" soap

Here's what the soap turned out like. Smells awesome! When I was washing off my cutter it seemed like it was lathering great.

Never judge what color you get when you first add it to your raw soap. Once it saponifies and hardens up enough to be unmolded, you can get a different color than what you thought or were expecting.
