My first shot at beer soap

I've got 3 bottles of Sam Adams beer: Black Lager, Summer Ale, and Boston Lager.

I'm understanding that it needs to be flat before adding lye.

I normally use honey or sugar as a lathering agent, do I still need to add it? I thought beer had a certain amount of sugar already in it?

I myself wouldn't worry about the sugar as an additive in beer soap.

Does beer soap have a really "beery" smell to it?

Thanks!! I have a black and tan long haired one, too.

About the beery smell, I don't know yet. I just popped the top on it last night to let it get flat. I was wondering the same thing. SHould I put fragrance in it or leave it natural?
