This batch turned out absolutely textbook perfect! Froze the goat's milk. Added the honey to the coconut oil that was warmed to melt it. Added oatmeal to the oils before combining with the goat's milk/lye solution. I'll be making many, many more batches of this soap!

Beautiful! I can't see soda ash - is it the whiter layer along the top?
Thanks!! I assumed the white layer was the soda ash...just a guess. I'm going to steam it to see if it resolves. Kind of as a test. I'll post results to show what the steam does to the white on top.
 
I'm guessing the white layer is just an ungelled outer 'rind', as it doesn't really look like soda ash. Did it heat up after pouring?

It did heat up a bit but not from the inside-to-outside direction that I saw with my coffee soap yesterday. I looked at it again today, and it does indeed look like it was just an ungelled rind. Thanks for taking the time to help!
