I've ordered a few mica samples in the past, but I'm curious what everyone thinks is completely necessary to have if you want colorful soap. I really wanna place an order of Nurture Soap micas sometime in the future but I can't really decide what to get... thoughts? If I could only get 8 or less one-ounce bags, what would you suggest? I already have an ounce of gold.

As a starter I would definately get this set, can`t go wrong with this one!

Vibrance Blue, Purple Vibrance, Red Vibrance, Pink Vibrance, Yellow Vibrance, Orange Vibrance, Green Vibrance.

I have these myself, and the colors are absolutely fantastic, it has 7 colors that are well pigmented, and if you want one more I would try the new and improved Red that they have got now. I got a sample of it on its way, I am very exited about it, because a good red is hard to find for soaps.

Or a teal color, like this one, it is lovely for a soap with a ocean-like fragrance.

Those are my suggestions, hope you found them helpfull.

Good luck : )

Love the vibrance collection except for the green. It's just not my favorite.

Also:

Black Pearl. I can get a really nice black with this and keep my lather white. It's not as messy as AC either.
Klein Blue
Kombu Green
Raspberry Red
Really Red
The whites - esp. a sparkly one. They stay glittery looking in the cured soap!

ETA: I most often find myself reaching for darker micas that I can use less of or add some white to lighten. That Kombu Green and Klein Blue make lovely lighter hues if I use a teeny smidgen along with some TD or white mica.

I agree with Black Pearl mica. I have activated charcoal but usually opt for the mica instead because of the messy factor of the AC. Probably my other favorites are Raspberry Red, Wisteria Purple and Khombu Green. The Vibrance colors are a good place to start. Nurture micas are all good quality. I don't really think you can go too far wrong with any of them.
